Honestly, I joined this project just out of curiosity. After responding to one of the LinkedIn posts, and then got carried away by the vision, both personally and professionally! As a mom, microbiologist, and circular economy advocate, I want a future that is safer, healthier, and more sustainable. I could see that the Sherpa Institute UN SDG Corporate Guidebook Series will have a real impact on our world. We discuss meaningful topics like social responsibility, business strategies, positive and negative corporate examples, materiality, and corporate KPIs.

Achieving the 2030 Agenda is a task too big for governments and NGOs alone. We need the private sector to join in creating a future for our children and their children’s children.

When I read the book Factfulness by Hans Rosling during onboarding, I was amazed to realize my own misconceptions. Going through the Gapminder.org test gave me factful data with those wonderful little interactive bubbles winking at me when I was proven wrong! This gave me a ray of hope that the world is not as bad as I thought, and together, we can make it more wonderful. A WORLD WE ALL WANT!

I’ve also been highly attuned to the health risks of COVID-19, as a microbiologist. The pandemic has expanded my interest in the environment and amplified my desire to contribute to SDGs focused on societal issues. Each of these has challenging underlining targets with tremendous impact potential for businesses and society.
